Do not give out your name, address or phone number to anyone online (this includes home, work or school contact details).

Do not give out your e-mail address to people you don't know, this could be used by third parties to send you unwanted (unsolicited) materials. If you receive e-mails from people you don't know, be careful, as these could be carrying viruses or other programs that could harm your computer.

Meeting People In Person

Be extremely wary about meeting people in person that you have communicated with online. People may not be who they appear to be, as they can portray themselves differently across the internet.

If you decide you want to meet in person, then the following advice is given:

Under 18s:

Always ask your parent(s) or guardian(s) first.

Ask your parent(s) to go with you.

Always meet in a public place of your choice.

Over 18s:

Ask a friend to accompany you.

Always tell someone you trust about where, when, and who you are meeting.

Dealing With Abusive Behaviour Online

If you've received a message that has upset you, or makes you feel uncomfortable, you should not reply to it. The site administrator has full control over removal of messages, and can be contacted via e-mail if required.
